ABOUT

The Philippines gets ready for its 5th country participation in the annual Winter Fancy Food Show (WFFS) set on 13 - 15 January at the Moscone Center in San Francisco, California.

Next year’s showing will feature 17 Philippine exporters under the Philippine Department of Trade and Industry’s Center for International Trade Expositions and Missions (CITEM) industry branding initiative, FoodPHILIPPINES.

FoodPHILIPPINES is a promotional platform of the government that aims to reinforce the country’s positioning as a prime source of quality services and export-ready food and beverage products derived from fresh, healthy, and natural ingredients.

The country’s participation in WFFS since 2014 seeks to increase the Philippine foods’ presence in the North American mainstream market where its health-conscious consumers highly regard it as a specialty food.

Last year, the country’s bestsellers were premium heirloom rice, tuna, nuts and coconut-derived products, banana chips and tropical fruit-based products. Surprisingly, our line of corn snack products received positive reception: its crunchier, tastier version was preferred over its counterparts from other countries.
