WHAT’S IN STORE FOR BUYERS AT THE PHILIPPINE PAVILION?

A mix of healthy and natural food, ready-to-eat food, and industrial ingredients from the tropical islands of the Philippines await buyers at FOOD TAIPEI! Owing it to the country’s climate and rich soil, Food Philippines will be bringing tropical fruits such as mangoes, bananas, pineapples, coconuts, and their by-products. Baked products, bottle marine products, snack foods, and raw materials will also be available for your sourcing needs.
Food Philippines is the industry brand for the food sector which unifies the overseas promotional efforts of the Center for International Trade Expositions and Missions (CITEM), the export promotions arm of the Philippines Department of Trade and Industry (DTI). Under this national brand, the Philippines is positioned as Asia’s most exciting sourcing destination for food exports, being one of the top exporters of fresh fruits and marine products.

The Philippines is also a major exporter of raw ingredients to countries such as the USA, Japan, Canada, South Korea, and The Netherlands, reporting a total of US$401.45 million Philippine agrobased product exports to the world in October 2014, according to the Philippine Statistics Authority.

With the burgeoning hotel, restaurant, and catering (HORECA) sector to provide the fertile ground for food business, the Philippines now stands out as Asia’s most exciting food business destination and gateway to Asia.

As reported by Global Agricultural Information Network (GAIN), the country’s food processing sector contributes 50 percent to the country’s total manufacturing output, making it an attractive market for ingredients, raw materials, machineries, and packaging materials.
