Handcrafted products hold a myriad of stories waiting to be told. In between details are imprints left by highly diverse and ever-evolving cultures – traces of the local landscape, marks left by rough but careful hands, echoes of age-old traditions and past experiences.

Craftsmanship has played a necessary role in the rich and colorful history of the Philippines, which makes it the perfect mirror with which to witness how the country, its landscape, its culture, and its people have evolved over the years. A woven basket illustrates how a dying art has persevered through generations. Likewise, its nuances speak of the material hewn, harvested, and treated by worn hands, and of the artisan whose nimble fingers gave it life and purpose.

This August, Lifestyle Philippines features a tapestry of crafted narratives from the 7,107 islands that make up the Philippines, through 12 creative enterprises and their colorful assortment of products that speak of a shared passion for craftsmanship.

ABOUT

Lifestyle Philippines is a collective of creative enterprises representing the best of the Philippines’ home and fashion sectors - featuring versatile yet highly artisanal products that are attuned to modern living.

From abaca (Manila hemp), raffia, bamboo, rattan, coconut husk, mother of pearl, fine bone china, etc., communities of Philipppine artisans transform their local materials with expert hands that carry generations of memories, but guided by the spirit of today. The result is an extraordinary collection of objects that contain colorful stories from distant tropical shores, creating a rich tapestry of passion and hope.
